Photo By John HoffMortgage fraudster Larry Maxwell was sentenced today to 198 months and millions of dollars in restitution. The sentence was at the high end of the high end of the sentencing possibilities, and reflected the impact on the victims plus the extreme degree of cunning, calculation and betrayal of trust required to pull off the 18 felony counts.
No family member stood to speak in Maxwell's defense--though a few were present in the court room--but three victims made moving, detailed impact statements to Judge Regina Chu on the 10th Floor of the Hennepin County Government Building.
