What the casual reader of the story may not realize is how closely this matter touches North Minneapolis, specifically the Jordan Neighborhood...
The lawyer involved in the torrid, sordid controversy is Kristi McNeilly. Who is she? Well, she's the lawyer representing former JACC Vice Chair Ben Myers in his defamation lawsuit against Jordan residents Anne McCandless, Dennis Wagner, and Megan Goodmundson. She also represented former JACC Executive Director Jerry Moore in his ultra-unsuccessful attempt to get a restraining order against Dan Rother for, among other things, agressive finger-pointing.
A ruling is supposed to come down in the defamation lawsuit any day, any hour or minute. It would be fair to say anticipation is at a "fever pitch" in the Jordan Neighborhood waiting for this ruling from Judge Porter. But today's news about McNeilly just kind of puts a whole new twist on things.
Gee, who will represent Ben Myers now when he wants to sue somebody?
