Word comes from a reliable source in the Jordan Neighborhood that former JACC Executive Director Jerry Moore--who was fired for misconduct, and is currently a plaintiff against the officially-recognized JACC leadership in a lawsuit which might be characterized as "tilting at windmills"--has been denied unemployment benefits. Moore had appealed being denied benefits, as this blog previously reported. This denial is actually an affirmation of the original ruling which denied benefits.

The wording of this recent ruling said...

...Moore "engaged in misconduct by fighting" and the employer "reasonably terminated" Moore. This kind of determination would appear to make any kind of lawsuit by Moore pointless, but maybe he can find an attorney who specializes in pointless lawsuits, hint hint.

Also, this unemployment appeal should not be confused with Moore's recent reported termination from the U of M UROC program.

At this point, I almost feel sorry for Moore. I can't resist wanting to give him free, valuable advice:

JERRY, GET THE HECK OUT OF NORTH MINNEAPOLIS POLITICS. You have become a liability to your friends and allies, and everything you touch turns to poison. Traditionally, when somebody fails in a very public and publicized way, there are a limited spectrum of opportunities to consider from that point. These opportunities are as follows:

First, go to a different geographic area, pick entirely new issues, and reinvent yourself. You can't hide what happened in North Minneapolis, but you could argue it's completely irrelevant to, for example, city politics in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Or...

Second, become a manager trainee for a fast food franchise, or a convenience store.

Selling insurance is another viable route to consider.

Or...

As crazy as it sounds, some kind of military enlistment. For centuries, men whose lives have been wrecked by circumstances beyond their control have found a fresh start in various branches of the armed forces. Plus, Jerry, your hand-to-hand combat skills could use some serious brushing up. I'm just saying.

But, in any case, GET THE HECK OUT OF NORTH MINNEAPOLIS POLITICS.
